Job summary

McKinstry seeks an Electrical Project Engineer to join the Portland-based Electrical Construction team. You will support RFPs, procurements, and tracking of current and future projects while reviewing contracts, drawings, and specifications. You will collaborate with the PM team and subcontractors to shape scope and cost baselines.

You will create RFIs, manage submittals, process change orders, and assist in monthly financial reporting, exercising strong ownership and technical rigor.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering or comparable degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of construction concepts preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, estimates preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite; working knowledge of Salesforce, ViewPoint and Accubid preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the RFP and procurement process and track current and future jobs.
• Review contracts, drawings and specifications; assist in scheduling and scope development with subcontractors.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting and ensure ownership of project execution.
• Create RFIs, track submittals, process change orders, and develop billing breakdowns.
