Qualifications

  • 5+ years of electrical design experience, especially in power distribution.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office with knowledge of ETAP and AGI 32.

Base pay range

Summary Of Position

As a Sr. Electrical Project Designer supporting our Construction Services/Energy business unit, you will be responsible for designing and drafting electrical engineering projects under the guidance of Electrical Engineers/Project Managers. This includes power distribution, lighting, and grounding. You will coordinate with Site/Civil Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects, and Construction Project Managers. You will produce electrical engineering construction documents while adhering to client requirements, code requirements, and site-specific adjustments.

Responsibilities

  • Design full site plans, single lines, and detail drawings.
  • Resolve complex design issues with limited guidance.
  • Conduct code analysis.
  • Perform site feasibility research and investigations, generating reports and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants.
  • Assist with design addendums, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Support the coordination of a multi-disciplinary team during design development and contract documentation.
  • Assist managers with project approval processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • E.I.T. certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of electrical design experience, especially in power distribution and distributed generation projects involving electric vehicles, battery storage, generators, or microgrids.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; ETAP and AGI 32 are a plus.

Team

This role reports to the Director of Electrical Engineering and collaborates closely with Designers and Engineers.

Work Location

This is a hybrid role based in our Ontario, CA office.
