Job summary

Oracle in Nashville, TN, seeks an Electrical Power Generation Engineer to lead the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of power-generation systems for mission-critical data centers. This on-site role includes relocation assistance and expect relocation-related travel.

You will coordinate across design, engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure safe, reliable, and scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of power-generation experience in mission-critical or industrial settings.
• Knowledge of gas turbines, generators, switchgear, and protection systems.
• Experience delivering from design through commissioning and handover.
• Ability to read one-line diagrams, schematics, and equipment specs.
• Strong cross-functional coordination and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to support 24/7 critical operations and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for electrical power-generation across design, construction, commissioning and operations.
• Define architecture, capacity, redundancy, protection, grounding and controls interfaces.
• Lead design reviews for generators, switchgear, transformers, and related equipment.
• Develop synchronization, load-sharing, paralleling, island-mode, and restoration strategies.
• Review diagrams, schedules, protection diagrams, and vendor submittals.
• Perform short-circuit, load-flow, arc-flash, grounding, harmonic, and coordination studies.
• Coordinate interfaces between generators, UPS, transformers, and data-center systems.
• Oversee commissioning plans, including generator startup, energization, and testing.
• Lead root-cause analyses of faults, trips, power-quality events, and failures.
• Develop operating procedures, maintenance strategies, and lifecycle plans.
• Ensure complete turnover with as-builts, relay settings, and manuals.
