Job summary

Bala Consulting Engineers seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Arlington, VA office. The role focuses on electrical power distribution, fire alarm and lighting design for commercial, healthcare and high-rise facilities.

Responsibilities include on-site surveys, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and cross-discipline coordination. PE preferred, EIT required, LEED a plus, with full-time onsite work and potential one-day remote option.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing electrical power distribution, fire alarm and lighting systems.
• Familiar with short circuit, arc flash coordination, interior/exterior lighting design, and photometric calculations.
• Background in commercial and healthcare facilities preferred.
• PE preferred; EIT certification required.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office.

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Arlington, VA office supporting the function enterprise-wide.

The requirements for this position include:

• 10+ years of experience in designing electrical power distribution infrastructure, fire alarm systems, lighting systems, both interior and exterior, and lighting controls.
• Knowledge should include familiarity with short circuit, arc flash coordination, design of interior and exterior lighting, and photometric calculations.
• Background in commercial and healthcare facilities strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge of applicable codes including energy conservation.
• PE Preferred. EIT certification required.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit design software with at least 1 year experience of formal design use.
• General understanding of Microsoft Office.
