Bala Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to advance building electrical systems across commercial, healthcare and high-rise projects.

You will design, analyze, and document power distribution, lighting and security systems while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams. Ideal candidates have 7–10 years of experience, proficiency with Revit, and a background in code compliance and cost estimation.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years designing electrical power distribution, fire alarm and lighting systems.
• Familiarity with short circuit, arc flash coordination and photometric calculations.
• Commercial and healthcare facility experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of energy conservation codes.
• PE or EIT certification preferred; LEED accreditation preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit with at least 1 year in formal design use.

Responsibilities

Electrical Project Engineer

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Prepare calculations for feeders, services, short circuit, transformer size.
• Design building electrical distribution, fire alarm and security systems.
• Perform on-site surveys of existing electrical equipment.

The basic requirements for this position include:

• 7 to 10 years of experience in designing electrical power distribution infrastructure, fire alarm systems, lighting systems, both interior and exterior, and lighting controls.
• Knowledge should include familiarity with short circuit, arc flash coordination, design of interior and exterior lighting, and photometric calculations.
• Background in commercial and healthcare facilities strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge of applicable codes including energy conservation.
• PE or EIT certification preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit design software with at least 1 year experience of formal design use.
