Bala Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer to join our Wayne, PA office. You will design electrical distribution, fire alarm and lighting control systems, and perform on-site surveys to support enterprise-wide projects.

Requirements include a BS in Electrical Engineering and 3–6 years of experience, with familiarity in short circuit calculations, arc flash coordination, and photometrics. Revit proficiency is expected; PE/EIT and LEED are preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
3–6 years of experience in electrical power distribution, lighting, and related systems.
Knowledge of short circuit, arc flash coordination, and photometric calculations.
Background in commercial and data center design is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare calculations for feeders, services, short circuit, transformer size.
Design building electrical distribution, fire alarm and lighting control systems.
Perform on-site surveys of existing electrical equipment.
Determine schedules and details for projects; review with project engineer.
Attend job meetings as required and ensure flow of information between disciplines.
Assist in writing reports and feasibility studies and support developing electrical standards.

The basic requirements for this position include:

3 to 6 years of experience in designing electrical power distribution infrastructure, fire alarm systems, lighting systems, both interior and exterior, and lighting controls.
Knowledge should include familiarity with short circuit, arc flash coordination, design of interior and exterior lighting, and photometric calculations.
Background in design of commercial and data centers strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Knowledge of applicable codes including energy conservation.
PE or EIT certification preferred.
LEED accreditation preferred.
Proficiency with Revit design software with at least 1 year experience of formal design use.
