Job summary

dsm-firmenich in Belvidere, NJ is seeking a Senior Technician (Electrical) to perform maintenance on plant equipment, including PMs, breakdowns, repairs and rebuilds to support production of chemical intermediates and finished products. This onsite role requires troubleshooting and modifying electrical systems in line with cGMPs, SOPs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years maintenance-related experience.
• Ability to diagnose and repair VFDs, PLCs, and 480V 3-phase motors.
• Knowledge of protective devices, breakers, fuses, and relays.

Responsibilities

• Fill out and review Permit Cliqs (work permits) with operation personnel prior to starting a job.
• Ensure all lockout - tagout procedures are followed
• Locate equipment problem and discuss potential causes.
• Recommend practical solutions of technical problems.
• Diagnose problems and repair VFDs, PLCs, motors with associated controls, protective devices, breakers, fuses, overloads, relays, conduit & cable, transmitter calibration controllers, switches and metrology.
• Trouble shoot, assess, inspect, adjust, and make repairs as needed to facility flow, pressure, temperature, and level instrumentation.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks, which include but are not limited to, routine calibration, thermography, and ultrasonic testing
• Other duties assigned by Freeport leadership.
