Job summary

dsm-firmenich in Princeton, NJ is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician for the 1st shift to keep critical electrical, controls, and instrumentation systems running safely and efficiently.

You will troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and process instrumentation to support reliable production, with competitive pay, excellent health benefits, generous paid time off, holidays, an annual bonus, and a 401(k) match up to 6%.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 3–5 years electrical/instrumentation experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ISA, GMPs and safe practices in chemical facilities.
• ISA Level 1 certification preferred.
• Skilled with 480VAC systems, electrical tools, schematics, and integrating electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot plant electrical distribution panels.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all 480vac to 24vdc plant electrical systems and Motor Control Centers.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives and other electronically controlled equipment.
• Install, setup, calibrate, inspect, and troubleshoot process instrumentation equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLC and HMI (Wonderware and other) programming.
• Troubleshoot and repair process and packaging equipment (fillers, conveyors, drives, packers, palletizers).
• Use Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, Mechanical and Operational skills to diagnose issues.
