Job summary

HDR is seeking an Electrical Principal in New Jersey to lead electrical design efforts across multidisciplinary teams. You will establish client relations, lead on projects, and ensure code compliance during schematic, design development, and construction documentation phases.

You will coordinate workload, manage project financials, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with the Project Manager, Project Architect, and other disciplines to deliver high-quality electrical systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
Minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by licensing board.
Extensive knowledge of life safety systems and building management systems.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with a multidiscipline team.
Lead electrical scope on projects and participate in client meetings.
Perform code compliance reviews for various governing agencies.
Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions on site with PM and Project Architect.
Coordinate workload to meet project schedules and budgets.
Mentor other electrical engineering staff and collaborate with regional controller.
