Job summary

Clayton Services in Spring, Texas is seeking an Electrical / Instrumentation / Controls Engineer to lead design, integration, and commissioning on power generation and industrial energy projects. You will oversee electrical distribution, instrumentation, automation, and control systems across multiple phases from design to startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, or closely related engineering field.
• 10–15 years in electrical, instrumentation, controls, or automation engineering.
• Experience with power generation projects strongly preferred.
• Experience with gas turbines and turbine controls highly desirable.
• PE license preferred; EPC/industrial environments valued.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering designs for power generation and industrial energy projects.
• Prepare and review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, cable schedules, equipment specifications, and technical documentation.
• Support electrical distribution system design, including switchgear, transformers, generators, protective relays, and associated equipment.
• Develop and review instrumentation and controls documentation, including I/O lists, loop diagrams, control narratives, and system architectures.
• Provide technical guidance on PLC, DCS, SCADA, and industrial automation systems.
• Support gas turbine control systems, generator protection, plant controls, and equipment integration.
• Participate in factory acceptance testing, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and field support activities as needed.
• Assist with technical planning, project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
