Qualifications
- Four years of journey-level electrician experience, or two years in electrical inspection of major commercial/industrial installations.
- Equivalent to completion of the 12th grade.
- Valid California Driver's License (Class C).
- ICC Certification as Commercial Electrical Inspector.
- ICC Certification as Commercial Combination Inspector and/or Residential Combination Inspector is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex electrical inspections of commercial and industrial construction.
- Review preliminary drawings for code compliance and verify quality of work during construction.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other inspectors and staff.
- Advise contractors, architects, engineers, and the public on code requirements and safety.
- Apply building and electrical codes consistently to support safe, high-quality development.
