Job summary

The City of Spring Hill is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to perform municipal code, zoning, building, and electrical inspections for residential and commercial properties. You will enforce codes, advise on changes, and prepare thorough inspection reports under supervision of the Development Director and Chief Building Official.

Candidate should have 5+ years in electrical construction or inspection, a valid TN driver’s license, and relevant certifications or the ability to obtain

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years electrical construction or inspection experience preferred.
• Valid Tennessee Driver's License.
• IAEI, NFPA or ICC Electrical Inspector Certification and TN Electrical Inspector Certification preferred, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Preference given to individuals with electrical plan review experience or certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform municipal code, zoning, building, and electrical inspections for residential and commercial properties.
• Inspect existing structures for changes in use, occupancy, and compliance with City codes.
• Inspect electrical systems, including services, rough-ins, final installations, and related elements.
• Approve inspected areas for certificates of occupancy; order corrections and conduct re-inspections.
• Explain and interpret City codes, respond to permit inquiries, and maintain inspection records.
