Job summary

City of Goodyear is seeking an Electrical Inspector Specialist to perform advanced inspections on complex commercial, industrial, and multi-story projects, applying expert NEC knowledge to ensure safe, code-compliant installations.

You will manage daily inspection workloads, participate in plan reviews and occupancy processes, and contribute to policy development within the Building Safety Division. A minimum of five years' experience and ICC Electrical Inspector certification are required.

Qualifications

Minimum five years of experience in commercial electrical inspection or related field.
ICC Electrical Inspector Certification at time of hire is required.
Reading code books, blueprints, and technical memos is essential.
Ability to perform basic math and write technical reports.

Responsibilities

Conduct complex electrical inspections in line with NEC for commercial/industrial projects.
Coordinate daily inspection assignments to ensure timely service delivery.
Interpret and enforce electrical codes for contractors, developers, and owners.
Engage with stakeholders to support project coordination and successful occupancy approvals.
Perform minor electrical plan reviews to verify permit accuracy and code compliance.
Contribute to training on advanced electrical systems and code interpretation.
Develop and refine inspection policies for consistency and compliance.
