Qualifications

• Must have valid ICC Commercial Electrical Inspector certification at hire.
• Electrical Plans Examiner certification within 1 year of hire/reclassification.
• Commercial Combination Inspector certifications in Building, Plumbing, and Mechanical within 2 years.
• Master Electrician Certificate issued by a public agency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections of electrical systems in new, renovated, and completed buildings to verify code compliance.
• Investigate problems and recommend modifications or repairs to ensure safety and compliance.
• Provide guidance to contractors, builders, and the public on electrical requirements.

Education

High school diploma or GED

5 years as Master Electrician

OSHA 10 Hour Construction

Equivalency: 9 years journeyman experience
