Job summary

The City of Goodyear is seeking an Environmental Compliance Inspector to support field inspections and internal audits. You will evaluate compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, collect data, and document findings while collaborating with departments, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have a foundation in environmental compliance, strong attention to detail, and the ability to learn regulations, permits, and programs.

Qualifications

• Work requires knowledge to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
• Valid Arizona Operator’s Driver’s License.
• NPDES/MS4 Compliance Inspector Certification within six months of hire.
• 24-Hour HAZWOPER training within twelve months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and communicate technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental compliance inspections and monitoring at City facilities to evaluate permits and policies.
• Collect, document, and maintain environmental data and records to support reporting and records management.
• Investigate environmental complaints, spills, and illicit discharges and support corrective actions.
• Communicate requirements and findings to City staff and stakeholders.
