Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. seeks an Electrical/I&C Engineer to join its Nuclear Services team to contribute to design, analysis, and construction of nuclear facilities. Experience with operating facilities digital/security requirements for control systems is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Controls Engineering is required.
• Master's degree in engineering is preferred.
• PE registration is required.
• Extensive experience with high-voltage generator and transformer design, sizing, and power systems.
• Experience with digital relaying and protection systems, SEL relays (SEL-411L/SEL-451) is required.
• DOE or commercial nuclear plant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee proposal development and guide engineers in nuclear project deliverables.
• Report to Project Engineer/Manager and serve as Project Engineer for Electrical and I&C projects when needed.
• Act as technical lead for customer and guide teams in design and calculations for nuclear modifications.
• Prepare engineering change packages for modifications at operating nuclear plants.
• Develop scoping documents and cost estimates for Electrical and I&C activities.
• Conduct field walkdowns to assess existing plant configurations.
• Develop designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and settings for high-voltage systems and protection schemes.
• Review and stamp design packages as senior PE when required.
