Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Cheyenne, WY is seeking an Electrical HV Resident Engineer to oversee the 230kV GIS substations for multi-project delivery over the next 24 months. The role requires leading the subcontractor’s execution, coordinating with Bechtel teams, and ensuring schedule and budget adherence on site.

The candidate will monitor construction, support design changes, and participate in pre-commissioning, testing, and commissioning activities with the home office engineering and startup

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) in Electrical HV Power Systems and 10-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
• Experience with HV GIS applications (230kV or above) and substations as a responsible engineer, project engineer or startup engineer.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the subcontractor's scope and coordinate with Bechtel team to ensure timely input.
• Monitor progress of the 230kV GIS substations and act as liaison between site and home office.
• Assist with Design Change Packages to resolve constructability issues with interface designs.
• Participate in pre-commissioning, testing and commissioning activities with subcontractor and startup team.
• Raise critical concerns with stakeholders in a timely manner.
