Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Senior Resident Electrical Field Service Engineer to support maintenance planning, outages, and on-site diagnostics for ABB motors and VFDs across US sites. The role includes a 14/14 rotation in Corpus Christi, TX and travel to customer sites as needed.

You will troubleshoot electrical and drive systems, interpret schematics, and act as the on-site electrical technical expert during rotations, interfacing with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams for

Qualifications

• Experience with major OEMs (Rockwell/AB, Schneider, Danfoss), OEM/EPC/owner-operator plant experience
• Exposure to Siemens PLCs or industrial controls
• Prior resident or rotational field service experience
• Experience in continuous-process industries (power, refining, chemical, LNG, manufacturing)
• Commissioning/startup support for ABB/Siemens motors and VFDs
• Troubleshooting electrical, controls, and drive systems in plants
• Support outages, startups, reliability events
• Interface with plant operations, maintenance, engineering teams
• Diagnostics using OEM software tools and field instruments
• Interpret electrical schematics and OEM docs
• Serve as on-site electrical technical expert during rotations

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance planning, pre-outage, outage and post-outage activities with plant operators for ABB motors and VFDs
• Assist plant operators with ABB motor maintenance reviews
• Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and drive system issues in operating plants
• Interface with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams
• Perform diagnostics using OEM software tools and field instrumentation
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and OEM documentation
• Document activities, findings, and corrective actions
• Serve as on-site electrical technical expert during rotations
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
• Assess parts storage and maintenance; advise on storage improvements
• Inspect parts on-site for completeness and damage
