Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, California is seeking a Senior Facilities Technician or Master Facilities Technician to lead electrical maintenance and infrastructure upgrades at HQ and the Engine Development Center. You will serve as the electrical subject matter expert and coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, Production, and IT.

The role requires 8+ or 10+ years of electrical maintenance, a High School Diploma or equivalent, NEC knowledge, and preferred licensed electrician credentials.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of electrical maintenance experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device, or regulated manufacturing environments.
• High School Diploma, GED, or 12+ years of electrical maintenance experience in lieu of diploma.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary electrical subject matter expert for HQ and Engine Development Center.
• Plan, scope, and execute electrical infrastructure projects including power distribution, panel upgrades, lighting systems, and equipment tie-ins.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, Production, IT to define electrical requirements and project timelines.
• Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrade of building electrical systems (120V-480V, 3-phase).
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and construction drawings.
• Install and modify conduit systems; bend conduit from ½ to 1 ¼ using manual benders.
• Size conductors, breakers, transformers, and distribution equipment per NEC and local code.
• Support equipment installations including procurement, layout planning, power drops, disconnects, energization.
• Manage electrical work orders through JIRA and prioritize by production impact and safety risk.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and local building codes.
• Provide oversight of contractors and verify work meets Rocket Lab standards.
• Assist with broader facilities maintenance tasks (HVAC, plumbing, painting, etc.).
