Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Supplier Development Engineer I/II - Electrical to own the supplier base for electrical hardware. You will lead industrialization from source selection through PPAP and ramp, engaging with procurement, design, and quality to ensure on-time, at-spec delivery of PCBs, wire harnesses, connectors, and power systems.

The role requires deep electrical domain knowledge and hands-on collaboration across design, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, MSA, and CPk/CpK.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCB layouts.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end supplier industrialization for electrical hardware from source selection through production ramp.
• Partner with procurement and engineering to evaluate suppliers based on process capability and capacity across PCB, SMT, and electromechanical assembly.
• Lead DFm reviews early in programs and provide feedback on layout, component selection, and tolerances to reduce cost and risk.
• Own APQP/PPAP processes at suppliers ensuring PFMEA, control plans, MSA/GR&R, and dimensional results are delivered on time.
• Drive PPAP readiness and supplier packages; ensure CPk and process capability for critical characteristics.
