Job Overview:The Senior Electrical Evaluator & Trainer is responsible for assessing apprentice competency and delivering electrical training within a registered apprenticeship program in a solar construction environment. This role ensures apprentices develop the technical skills, safety practices, and code knowledge required to perform electrical work in compliance with NEC, OSHA, DOL, and company standards.The position combines hands-on field evaluations, classroom instruction, and real-time coaching, while partnering with field leadership to support workforce development. The Electrical Evaluator & Trainer plays a critical role in qualifying apprentices, reinforcing safe work practices, and building a skilled, job-ready electrical workforce across multiple job sites through regular travel.Job Responsibilities:Evaluate Apprentice CompetencyIndependently assess electrical apprentices’ skills (installation, wiring, troubleshooting, safety, NEC compliance)Determine Qualification & ProgressionCreate & identify process improvements to qualification programs at PREMake pass/fail decisions and recommend readiness for advancement within the apprenticeship programAdvise lower level Evaluator & Trainers on qualification criteria & processesLead & Deliver Electrical TrainingConduct classroom and hands-on training aligned with registered apprenticeship curriculumIdentify skills that workers are lacking and make recommendations for improvements in curriculum to address these gapsProvide Field Coaching & FeedbackObserve apprentices on job sites and provide real-time performance coachingTrain on Solar Electrical SystemsInstruct on solar PV systems, including DC/AC components, inverters, and installation best practicesMaintain advanced knowledge on solar electrical systems and stay up to date with new developments in products/systemsMaintain Training & Evaluation RecordsDocument assessments, progress, and completion of training in compliance with program requirementsEnsure Safety ComplianceReinforce OSHA, NEC, and company safety standards; correct unsafe behaviors immediatelyCollaborate with Field LeadershipCoordinate with supervisors and project teams to align training with job site needsServe as the primary point of contract to field teams for anything related to evaluation & trainingEducation and Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent (required)5-8 years of experience in:Training, coaching, or mentoring apprenticesConducting evaluations or assessmentsNFPA 70E Certificate (required)OSHA 10/30 certification (required or ability to obtain)NCCER Instructor Certification or equivalent (preferred)Journeyman Electrician license (preferred)Experience with solar PV systems strongly (preferred)Familiarity with registered apprenticeship programs (preferred)Pay Equity:$90,000- $115,000Primoris Renewable Energy provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position.
