Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Augusta, GA is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to prepare detailed estimates for major electrical scopes during preconstruction. You will lead complex projects with MEP packages of $25M+ and coordinate estimates with Turner teams, architects, engineers and owners.

Responsibilities include quantity take-offs, lifecycle cost analysis, value engineering, and mentoring junior estimators while ensuring accurate pricing with local suppliers and Turner

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 15 years related Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire Protection estimating experience.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead responsibility for complex projects such as Mission Critical, Hospital/Healthcare, Pharma and Government jobs with MEP packages of $25M+.
• Communicate estimate and scopes of work to Turner staff, architects, engineers, and owners.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, analyses, estimates, and studies for Electrical items from conceptual design through construction documents.
• Analyze contract documents to determine required scope not indicated.
• May supervise Assistant MEP Estimators, Estimating Assistants and/or Interns.
• Develop relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure current pricing and bidders.
• Perform constructability analyses and communicate issues to the project team.
• Provide first costs analysis and participate in life cycle analysis with the design team.
• Lead and participate in value analysis and sub-contractor evaluation.
