Job summary

Superior Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing, Inc. is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the Electrical Estimating team for commercial projects.

This on-site role will involve reviewing plans, developing bids, and collaborating with project managers and clients to ensure accurate, competitive estimates. The ideal candidate has seven or more years of electrical estimating experience, strong knowledge of retail electrical systems, and proficiency with estimating software.

Qualifications

• Minimum of seven (7) years of electrical estimating experience, with prior lead or senior estimating experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of retail electrical systems, applicable codes and standards, and electrical materials and installation methods.
• Ability to interpret refrigeration, mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and/or structural plans and specifications related to electrical installation.
• Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, SureCount, Autodesk, Intellibid, and/or EBM.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates for a variety of projects, including ground-ups, tenant improvements and takeovers.
• Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and identify potential challenges.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop accurate and competitive bids.
• Analyze and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure cost efficiency.
• Maintain and update estimating databases and cost databases to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist in the negotiation of contracts and scope of work with clients and subcontractors.
• Mentor junior estimators on best practices, accuracy, and necessary corrections.
• Monitor project budgets and provide cost control recommendations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
