Job summary

gpac, retained by a local electrical contractor, seeks a Senior Electrical Estimator to lead large-scale bids for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

Responsibilities include take-offs, bid development, and collaboration with PMs, engineers and field teams. Must have 7+ years’ electrical estimating experience and proficiency with Accubid, McCormick, or Conest.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of electrical estimating experience with an electrical contractor.
• Expertise in estimating commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, McCormick, or Conest.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and cost control.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts with precision.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Stable work history.
• Previous leadership or senior estimating role.

• Lead the estimating process for large-scale commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects
• Review project specifications, drawings, and scope to develop comprehensive and competitive bids
• Conduct detailed take-offs, ensuring accurate material and labor cost estimates
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure seamless project execution
• Analyze historical cost data and supplier pricing to improve estimating accuracy
• Attend pre-bid meetings and job site walkthroughs to verify project conditions
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to secure competitive pricing
• Oversee junior estimators, providing mentorship and technical guidance
• Collaborate on value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs and efficiency
• Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, industry regulations, and contract requirements
