Job summary

gpac has been retained by a local electrical contractor to identify an Electrical Estimator to join their team in Milwaukee. The successful candidate will prepare specifications, perform take-offs, and prepare complete estimates for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of estimating experience with electrical contractors, familiarity with Accubid/McCormick/Conest, and a strong eye for cost control and detail.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience with an electrical contractor.
• Experience with Accubid, McCormick, or Conest estimating software.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installations, estimating techniques, and cost control.
• Ability to interpret computerized cost data and estimating systems.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Stable work history.
• Previous management or supervisory experience is a plus.
• College degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and required estimate details.
• Estimate electrical work for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and job site walkthroughs to verify project requirements.
• Perform complete take-offs for electrical scope of work.
• Maintain detailed estimate documentation, including supplier pricing and historical cost data.
• Support other departments as needed, including assisting with estimates in related disciplines.
• Analyze design options and recommend cost-effective solutions.
• Interface with clients on bid-walks and provide estimating support to field operations.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership.
