You will work on a variety of commercial and industrial electrical projects, ensuring detailed and accurate cost analysis, compliance, and resource management from start to finish.
Requirements:
- Experience: 7+ years in electrical estimation or a related role in commercial/industrial MEP or HVAC field.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications, with strong Excel and estimation software skills.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with electrical components and systems, such as control panels, wiring, and lighting.
- Communication & Collaboration: Effective written and verbal skills for working with engineers, clients, and trades.
- Detail-Oriented & Organized: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Physical Ability: Able to lift and move up to 25 lbs as required.
Responsibilities:
- Project Analysis & Estimation: Review blueprints and technical documents to determine scope, materials, labor, and costs, and develop detailed estimates accordingly.
- Material Sourcing & Vendor Negotiation: Identify suppliers, negotiate pricing, and ensure cost-effectiveness for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Compliance & Bid Preparation: Ensure estimates comply with safety standards and legislation; prepare and submit competitive bids.
- Financial Management: Create cost plans, manage budgets, and monitor financial aspects of the project.
- Communication & Collaboration: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and trades; attend bid review meetings.
- Database & Risk Management: Update cost databases regularly and assess project risks to include in estimates.
