Job summary

Henderson’s Electrical Services, a unit of Colonial Group, seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer/Designer to lead complex design efforts and oversee project quality from concept through completion.

You will mentor designers and engineers, coordinate with project teams, and contribute to strategy and business development while ensuring life-safety and code compliance. A PE license is preferred for leadership roles. This position emphasizes client engagement and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, fire protection, or architectural engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, especially for Engineer of Record roles.
• Advanced to expert proficiency in electrical design, codes and standards, and relevant software such as Revit and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design from concept through completion for complex or large-scale projects.
• Direct or oversee the preparation of design documents, system layouts, drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Develop solutions to advanced engineering problems and provide discipline-wide technical guidance.
• Mentor and coach across teams, supervising junior designers and engineers.
• Participate in staffing, training, and technical strategy initiatives.
• Provide quality oversight and final reviews to ensure standards compliance.
• Communicate with clients, resolve conflicts, and lead responses to technical questions.
• Lead or support strategic business development and maintain client relationships.
• Serve as Engineer of Record when assigned, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to standards.
