Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Technical Director - Electrical Engineering (Generation) to join our Houston, TX office. Lead the electrical engineering discipline on complex power generation projects, ensuring design quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

You will drive strategy, oversee budgets, and manage cross-functional teams across planning, design, and construction management while developing new business opportunities. 15+ years of experience and licensure are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
15+ years of post-education experience in electrical engineering and infrastructure design for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
Extensive knowledge of codes, regulations, and permitting related to electrical projects.
Proven ability to lead large-scale, multi-disciplinary programs and projects.

Responsibilities

Provide regional leadership to ensure high-quality electrical design and safety compliance.
Lead the most complex electrical engineering projects and manage budgets, hours, and expenses.
Drive business development and long-term strategy for electrical engineering work.
Negotiate contracts, present with clients, and lead stakeholder meetings.
Ensure profits and project delivery meet corporate standards and client expectations.
Maintain regulatory compliance and continuously improve certifications and client value.
Mentor staff and lead discipline meetings and continuing education.
Represent the discipline to external agencies, clients, and subcontractors.
