Bala Consulting Engineers in Baltimore, MD seeks an Electrical Engineering Department Manager (MEP) to lead the Baltimore Electrical Department and grow a high‑performing team capable of delivering large-scale projects regionally and nationally. This is a full‑time, onsite role with one day remote work.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in electrical design, Maryland PE, and strong leadership, with a track record in managing budgets, schedules, and client relationships while advancing

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in electrical/fire alarm design.
• Team supervisory experience.
• Maryland PE license.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a 4-year accredited college or university.
• Strong technical writing & software skills including Revit.
• Sound knowledge of building codes.
• Great interpersonal & communication skills.
• Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment with the ability to work individually or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and project management for electrical engineering staff.
• Recruiting, hiring, coaching, and leadership responsibilities.
• Develop budgets and timelines for engineering projects.
• Maintain client relationships and support sales efforts enterprise-wide.
• Collaborate across offices to drive on-time, on-budget delivery.
