Job summary

Freese and Nichols is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Texas (Fort Worth, Dallas, or Austin). You will design and deliver electrical systems for municipal water and wastewater facilities, supporting project design, construction delivery, and junior engineers.

You will work on power, lighting, generator systems, and controls; analyze existing networks; coordinate with clients and subcontractors; and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.
• PE license in TX, GA, NC, or FL required.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Experience supporting all design phases from pre-proposal through construction.
• Experience working with clients and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC and NFPA 820.
• Understanding of power system analysis such as short circuit analysis, motor starting analysis and load flow studies.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Design complete electrical systems for water and wastewater facilities.
• Analyze existing systems and develop improvements.
• Support projects through all phases from proposal to construction.
• Prepare and review electrical calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Assess electrical equipment and witness on-site testing and startup.
• Perform quality control reviews for technical accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate tasks to support project schedules, budgets, and requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and subcontractors.
• Travel as needed to support project execution.
