Job summary

Critical Loop, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to own the product’s electrical design from conception to production, managing schematics, BOMs, and change orders, and driving the design process behind them.

You will lead power-system studies, ensure NEC/UL compliance, and collaborate with mechanical and controls teams to meet constraints. A 5+ year background in power-system design and switchgear experience is required, with US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of electrical design on power systems.
• Experience with switchgear or high-power electrical assemblies.
• Apply NEC and relevant standards to real designs.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies (ETAP or SKM).
• Proficient in industry-standard electrical CAD.
• Make build-vs-buy and cost-down decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the system-level electrical design: single-lines, protection ratings, grounding, component selection.
• Take products from prototype to production release and handover to Production.
• Author and own product documentation and processes: requirements, design reviews, ECOs.
• Release and maintain electrical BOMs and single-line drawings under revision control.
• Run power system studies: load flow, short circuit, coordination, arc flash.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and controls leads to meet constraints.
• Decide what to build in-house vs buy while trimming BOM cost without compromising compliance.
• Ensure designs comply with NEC and UL standards.
