Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in its ACE division to lead the electrical design of navigation sensors for spaceflight vehicles, ensuring safety, reliability, and low cost. You will guide hardware development from concept through qualification, driving EMI, radiation, and testing requirements.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in aerospace electronics, a track record with complex circuits, and experience with Altium/OrCAD, PCB design, and software in C/C++/Python.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of electronic design experience, preferably aerospace/defense.
  • Proficiency with schematic design tools (Altium, OrCAD, or equivalent).
  • Experience in complex circuit design, prototyping, and design for manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of PCB design, assembly, and PCB layout software.
  • Familiarity with low-noise analog/digital test equipment.
  • Some software experience in C, C++, Python.
  • Self-starter in fast-paced NPD environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, test, and deploy sensors for spaceflight navigation (gyros, accelerometers, IMUs, RF, star trackers).
  • Lead development of simple, reliable hardware meeting PNT and redundancy requirements.
  • Drive regulatory and certification activities and electrical/mechanical failure analysis.
  • Lead acceptance and qualification testing for space-worthy sensors and components (EMI, radiation).
