Job summary

Continental Energy Solutions in Chicago seeks an electrical design engineer to deliver renewable energy project designs, including interconnection drawings, permit/construction drawings, calculations and close-out documents using AutoCAD, PVSyst and Helioscope. Projects include photovoltaic and storage components submitted to utilities and AHJs for approval.

You will model PV systems, conduct site surveys, design installation details and single-line diagrams, create shop drawings for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years experience in renewable energy electrical construction and design.
• NABCEP, electrical engineering and/or AutoCad certification courses preferred.
• Proficient in voltage drop, ampacity, short circuit studies and protection coordination.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and electrical standards.

Responsibilities

• Model PV systems in PVSyst or Helioscope to estimate output.
• Conduct site surveys and assess existing electrical infrastructure.
• Design project electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schedules and calculations.
• Create shop drawings for installation personnel and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Update record drawings from field markups and visits.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and contractors to support installation.
