Job summary

Enel North America is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join the O&M team, leading electrical design and performance of renewables plants across the USA and Canada. You will guide grid interconnection work, provide expert support to multiple units, and mentor colleagues in a dynamic, global environment.

The role requires extensive experience in power systems design, renewable energy projects, and regulatory compliance, with opportunities to travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; master's preferred.
• PE certification is preferred.
• 12+ years in electrical power systems engineering.
• 7+ years in power systems design.
• 5+ years in renewable energy systems design.
• Knowledge of regulatory and interconnection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in due diligences, feasibility studies, permitting design, and detailed design for renewable power plants (wind, solar, storage).
• Peer review grid connection and electrical design drawings/reports for DD, Feasibility, Permitting, and Detailed Design.
• Provide technical support to ensure quality of construction, commissioning and operations of renewable plants.
• Develop and update technical specifications for RFPs related to own field of expertise.
• Prepare reports, analyses and SME input for market and NERC compliance activities.
• Mentor and support other team members and lead electrical engineering matters for USA and Canada.
