Job summary

RWE Americas is seeking a Sr Engineer I, Electrical Projects to oversee electrical systems design for onshore wind, solar and storage projects in development. You will lead balance of plant design, support pre-construction, construction and turnover to Operations.

The role requires a BS in EE with 6+ years of experience, transmission/substation design, power system studies, and proven ability to coordinate with consultants and stakeholders. Some travel may be required to field locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in electrical engineering
• Experience in transmission design, substation design, collection and distribution design
• Renewable generation project design experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to manage customer relationships

Responsibilities

• Design of balance of plant packages during development
• Engineering project support during pre-construction, construction, and turnover to Operations
• Grid code compliance and interconnection requirements
• Specification and evaluation of major balance of plant electrical equipment
• Power system modeling and studies
• Coordinating project engineering topics during construction
• Management of 3rd party engineering consultants
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts during the project lifecycle
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards in designs and standards
• Support development of electrical engineering standards
