Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design, procurement support, and commissioning for a new state‑of‑the‑art facility. You will oversee electrical scope across all project phases, coordinating with EPCs, vendors, and inspectors while ensuring NEC/IEEE compliance and safety.

The role requires travel to supplier sites and the project site in Alabama, with a strong emphasis on PLC/SCADA integration, control systems, and power distribution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering (ABET‑accredited).
• 10+ years of electrical/controls engineering or plant manufacturing experience in heavy industrial or large‑scale projects.
• Field experience managing electrical contractors from rough‑in through energization and startup.
• Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience with Procore or similar project management software.
• Industrial automation experience (Rockwell Studio 5000 / FactoryTalk, Siemens TIA Portal).
• PM certification (PMP) and PE license are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and approve electrical drawings, diagrams, and specs for MV/LV systems, control systems, and grounding.
• Direct and oversee on‑site electrical contractors to match designs, quality, schedules, and safety.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international codes (NEC, NFPA 70E) and plant safety rules.
• Manage electrical scopes using Procore for submittals, RFIs, revisions, and field updates.
• Develop field inspection protocols, testing programs, and commissioning procedures for main equipment.
• Serve as liaison between capital project managers, EPC partners, vendors, and inspectors.
• Design and layout plant electrical infrastructure, substations, grounding, and UPS backup systems.
• Develop plant process control schemes (PLC/PAC, SCADA/HMI) with EtherNet/IP/PROFINET integration.
• Lead FAT/SAT, dry runs, and commissioning trials; train operators and maintenance staff.
• Contribute to continuous improvements and cost‑reduction actions; enforce safety culture.
