Job summary

Shah & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer/Project Lead for facilities projects in Gaithersburg, MD. The role combines hands-on electrical design with leadership of project teams and client relations.

You will lead design efforts for medium voltage systems in facilities, industrial plants, water/wastewater facilities, and airports, reporting to the President and Chief Engineer. Strong communication and extensive experience are essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (US) preferred or willingness to obtain US certification.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience with hands-on design work.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and act as PM, coordinating design engineers and designers.
• Perform design, calculations, and analysis of medium voltage electrical systems for facilities and airports.
• Review calculations (short circuit, voltage drop, motor starting, relay settings) and prepare design inputs.
• Conduct independent reviews and manage construction management duties, including shop drawings and inspections.
• Liaise with clients, manage schedules, and ensure projects meet budget and timeline.
