Heads Up Technologies in Addison, TX, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to support manufacturing operations. You will lead root cause analysis, troubleshoot electromechanical assemblies, and drive improvements to reliability and manufacturability across production processes.

The role emphasizes collaboration with design, quality, and procurement to reduce costs and manage component lifecycle risks, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of electrical engineering experience in PCB assemblies and OEM manufacturing/testing.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for electrical and electromechanical systems.
• Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with failure analysis techniques and reliability engineering principles.
• Experience with component selection, qualification, and obsolescence management.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, including PCB assembly and testing.
• Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams to meet product requirements.
• Familiarity with UL, CE, and RoHS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for electromechanical product failures observed in production and the field.
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems and PCB assemblies.
• Support production teams in resolving technical issues to minimize downtime and maintain delivery commitments.
• Partner with quality and manufacturing teams to drive containment and corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyze failure trends and implement design or process improvements that enhance product reliability.
• Support failure analysis activities, including test development, data collection, and reporting.
• Work closely with design engineering to implement design changes that improve manufacturability and robustness.
• Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities through component changes and process improvements.
• Monitor and manage electronic component lifecycle risks, including obsolescence and supply constraints.
• Collaborate with product management and procurement to ensure continuity of supply.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
