Job summary

Project Canary Inc. seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Hardware team at the Denver Headquarters. You will own the electrical architecture for next-generation high-precision trace gas analyzers, from concept through production.

The role emphasizes analog front-end design, laser driver circuits, and high-ENOB ADC/DAC chains, with collaboration across software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; advanced degree a plus.
• 7+ years in analog circuit design and signal processing.
• Experience with laser-based spectroscopy or optical sensing systems.
• Experience with MIR/NIR lasers and precision low-noise analog circuitry.
• Proven production-ready hardware development experience.
• Leadership in engineering teams; bringing projects to production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, debug, and validate electronics for laser-based gas analyzers.
• Lead high-precision electrical systems design, including analog front-ends and high-speed communications.
• Select and integrate components for ultra-sensitive analyzers used in production.
• Drive circuit modeling, prototyping, and validation against noise and stability requirements.
• Lead the PCB lifecycle from architecture to production and improvement.
• Explore emerging lasers, detection methods, and signal processing techniques to improve performance.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, manufacturing, and operations to deliver new products.
• Mentor engineers while remaining hands-on in design and development.
