Job summary
Advanced Laser Systems Technology (ALST) in Orlando, FL, seeks a Lead, Electrical Engineer to drive circuit card assembly and digital hardware development for advanced laser systems. You will architect electrical systems, select components, and collaborate with design and production teams across programs.
The role requires hands-on circuit board experience, FPGA/VHDL expertise, and the ability to present technical results to customers and leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; 10+ years relevant experience
- 10+ years electrical design experience
- 8+ years experience with PCB/CCA development
- Experience with DoD / military market is a plus
- Soldering and debugging of circuit boards
- Ability to communicate across roles
Responsibilities
- Lead PCB/CCA development including stackup, schematic capture, routing, and signal integrity analysis
- Develop subsystem architecture and digital hardware design
- Develop firmware including FPGA architecture, VHDL coding, test benches, and timing analysis
- Test and debug firmware and hardware designs
- Component selection to minimize size and power draw while maximizing reliability
- Provide technical presentations to customers and management
