Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to lead design and optimization of power distribution for energy infrastructure, with emphasis on automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage.

Ideal candidates bring ABET-accredited electrical engineering degrees and extensive experience in natural gas, data centers, or related sectors. PE license preferred. On-site role in Texas with cross-functional collaboration and mentorship of junior engineers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university (Required).
Staff: 15 years of engineering experience in natural gas, data centers, or related industry (Required).
Senior: 8 years of engineering experience in natural gas, data centers, or related industry (Required).
Experience supporting Pre-FEED, FEED, or EPC projects (Preferred).
Experience with instrumentation and control system design (Preferred).
Experience with power system modelling and analysis tools such as ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, or Simulink (Preferred).
Knowledge of high‑voltage systems, transformers, generators, switchgear, and grid integration (Preferred).
Strong expertise in power generation, power distribution systems, and electrical design.
Experience integrating advanced power technologies, including automation, controls, and energy systems.
Ability to analyse system performance and reliability, including arc flash, fault analysis, and system optimisation.
Experience with automation and control systems, including PLCs and HMI systems.
Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while leading technical efforts and influencing outcomes.
Preferred PE License
Must comply with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including NEC, NEMA, API, and IEEE

Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems and power distribution networks for pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities.
Drive Power Innovation initiatives involving automation, real-time monitoring, energy storage, and advanced control systems.
Apply and enhance safety practices, including arc flash mitigation, fault detection, and protection systems.
Provide technical expertise in power distribution, electrical schematics, and system design for new construction and upgrades.
Manage engineering projects from concept through execution, aligning scope, schedule, and business objectives.
Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Analyze system performance and reliability and identify optimization opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions.
Mentor and support engineers’ technical development and knowledge sharing.
Influence engineering standards, technical strategy, and decision‑making at Staff level.
Perform other duties as assigned
