Job summary

CDM Smith in Chicago seeks an Electrical Engineer 5 to design electrical systems for critical infrastructure. You will work on complex power systems, perform studies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions that meet client goals and codes.

You will mentor junior staff, contribute to knowledge management, and support proposals and technical publications. A sign-on bonus may be considered for the right candidate.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; PE license preferred.
7 years of relevant experience; travel may be required.
Experience with power systems, substations, and related design tasks.
Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, UFC and industry codes is beneficial.
Ability to mentor staff and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Develop electrical master plans, power systems, and generation models.
Perform power studies, lighting layouts, and facility system analyses.
Review designs and ensure compliance with site and code requirements.
Contribute to technical papers and client proposals.
Lead, train, and supervise junior engineers on projects.
