Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a professional electrical engineer to support due diligence, design, and construction of utility and industrial scale projects. You will assist with research, concept development, and electrical system design, including power distribution, protection and control, and adherence to NEC/IEC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 3–5 years of relevant post education experience in an electrical engineering or prior electrical design experience.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and permitting and project work‑related issues.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management, including rehabilitation and new design.
• Knowledge of NEC, ICC and IECC codes.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze data related to substation components, equipment specs for procurement and pricing.
• Review third‑party design documents, procurement lists and project plans.
• Perform professional electrical engineering work (low/medium voltage) including single line, wiring diagrams, equipment distribution, grounding and lightning protection.
• Develop electrical calculations for loads, sizing, voltage drop, grounding, lighting circuits and distribution.
• Prepare data visualizations and reports for presentation of findings.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to execute project work and ensure conformance with permits and regulatory memos.
