Job summary

WSP is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support due diligence, investigation, remediation, design, and construction of utility, industrial, and commercial scale projects. You will assist engineers and project managers with substation design, equipment sizing, and reporting.

Work includes data collection, drawing single and three-line diagrams, grounding, protection schemes, and permit coordination. A collaborative, safety-focused environment is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Familiarity with infrastructure planning and construction management.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and permitting processes.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate with engineers and non-engineers.
• Proficiency with technical writing and software tools.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection and analysis for substation components and procurement pricing.
• Design work: single-line and three-line diagrams, grounding, protection schemes.
• Provide technical assistance on equipment sizing and cabling.
• Support senior engineers with research and recommendations.
• Develop electrical calculations for loads and voltage drop.
• Write technical reports and maintain complete documentation.
• Collaborate with project teams including permitting and controls.
