Job summary

DPR Construction is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Austin, TX to design, develop, and deliver electrical engineering solutions across all project phases. You will lead the production of drawings, specifications, calculations, and analytical models while ensuring compliance with codes and project requirements.

The role requires a PE license, 6+ years of experience, and proficiency with CAD/BIM for commercial building electrical systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
6+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
Professional Engineer license required; active NCEES record preferred.
Experience designing commercial building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low‑voltage systems.
Proficiency with CAD and BIM software and multidisciplinary coordination.

Responsibilities

Lead design and production of electrical deliverables across all project phases.
Develop electrical system designs for power, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
Prepare and review construction documents, single-line diagrams, panel schedules.
Utilize CAD and BIM to create and coordinate accurate 2D drawings and 3D electrical models.
Lead construction administration activities including RFIs, site visits, and field coordination.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate designs.
Assist project managers with scope, cost tracking, scheduling, and risk evaluation.
Apply sound engineering judgment to resolve complex technical challenges.
Contribute to process and standards improvements.
