Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field; Master’s degree is a plus
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas, or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
  • Familiarity with NEC/IEEE standards; local codes; AutoCAD or Revit and electrical design software tools
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and clear communication with clients and multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

Role Description

The Senior Electrical Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position located in Austin, TX. The individual in this role will lead the design and analysis of electrical systems for building and infrastructure projects, including preparing drawings, specifications, and calculations. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with project managers and other engineers, reviewing design documents, performing load calculations and short-circuit studies, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. The Senior Electrical Engineer will also mentor junior staff, participate in client meetings, respond to RFIs, and support field observations and construction administration. This role involves managing multiple projects, maintaining quality control, and delivering solutions that meet performance, safety, and cost objectives.


Qualifications


  • Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, with applied knowledge of electricity and core engineering principles.

  • Proficiency in Electrical Design for building and infrastructure projects, including preparation of plans, specifications, and calculations.

  • Experience with Power Distribution systems, including panelboard layouts, feeder sizing, and protective device coordination.

  • Expertise in Power Systems analysis, including load flow, fault current studies, and system reliability considerations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas, or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.

  • Familiarity with NEC, IEEE standards, and relevant local codes; experience with AutoCAD or Revit and electrical design software tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and communicate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.

  • Experience with commercial, industrial, or institutional projects and construction administration activities is highly beneficial.
