Job summary
Kimley-Horn's Chicago Western Suburbs office in Illinois is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join the Power Generation team. The role covers design and delivery of power generation and heavy industrial facilities, including fossil, hydrogen, solar, nuclear, energy storage, decarbonization, mining, and gas compression projects.

Qualifications
- 10+ years of power generation design experience.
- P.E. license in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree.
- Experience with gas-fired generation and multi-discipline projects.
- Knowledge of grid interconnections and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, work plans, and schedules.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Coordinate with clients and external partners.
- Lead electrical engineering efforts for natural gas and coal-fired projects.
- Design and support Air Quality Control and Effluent Guidelines systems.
- Develop and review P&IDs and lifecycle cost analyses.
- Collaborate with other professionals and contractors.
