The Senior Electrical Engineer candidate should have experience in the utility-scale power and renewable energy industry and be capable of leading teams for power generation design projects, including supporting traditional Owner’s Engineering roles. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in power generation and distribution, renewable energy, protection and motor control design, power system studies, construction and equipment specification development, and balance of plant designs such as raceway, lighting, and grounding systems. Interest and experience in renewables and battery energy storage systems (BESS) are highly desired. The candidate will also mentor young engineers, support client relationship management, and lead marketing activities including proposal writing, fee development, and work breakdown structure creation for RFP responses. Significant experience in power plant systems design and engineering as the engineer of record is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an emphasis on Electrical Power
• 15+ years of experience in electrical power generation and renewable energy design
• Field experience, including startup and commissioning
• Experience with renewable energy projects (PV, BESS, etc.) and microgrids
• Previous experience with an engineering power consulting firm
• Willingness to grow into a team lead or section manager role
• Strong leadership skills to work independently or lead multi-discipline teams
• Extensive knowledge of three-phase electrical power, protection and control design, system grounding, and physical design, including lighting and instrumentation systems
• Experience with DCS and PLC systems is a plus
• Ability to collaborate with project managers and mentors, and oversee engineering staff
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture
• Less than 10% travel expected for client meetings and site visits

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Extensive project execution experience in the Power Market Sector
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sector-specific design software (e.g., PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit)
