Job summary

WSP in Meridian, ID is seeking a Lead Professional, Electrical Engineering to drive design for power delivery projects. You will lead infrastructure design, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with codes, safety and project requirements.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, 7–10 years of relevant experience, a professional engineer license, and strong technical writing skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • 7 to 10 years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer for capital projects in power generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • Engineer license required.
  • Proficient with electrical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and permitting issues.
  • Extensive knowledge of infrastructure design.
  • Knowledge of adjacent disciplines such as electrical engineering, P&C, SCADA, and telecom.
  • Experience with electrical infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data relating to electrical infrastructure design and procurement packages.
  • Coordinate, review and approve electrical infrastructure design plans for projects.
  • Apply electrical engineering techniques to improve project phases from concept to operation.
  • Perform complex electrical design calculations and prepare layouts and drawings.
  • Plan and incorporate design requirements with equipment sizing, panel design, and cabling strategies.
  • Review calculations for loads, grounding, short circuit studies, and protective device coordination.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and manage budgets, hours, and resources on multiple projects.
