Job summary

WSP seeks an Electrical Engineer for its Meridian, ID office, with a secondary Seattle, WA location. The role provides technical assistance for due diligence, remediation, permitting, design, and construction of utility, industrial, and commercial projects, supporting the Property & Buildings Team.

The engineer will review documents, perform electrical design tasks, develop load calculations, and create reports and visualizations while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of post‑education experience in electrical design.
• Engineer in Training certification.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design/build, permitting, and project work.

Responsibilities

• Collect, compile, and analyze data on substation components and procurement packages.
• Review third‑party design documents, procurement lists, and project plans.
• Perform professional electrical engineering work for single line, three‑line, wiring diagrams, substation layout, bus arrangement, grounding grids, and lightning protection.
• Develop electrical calculations for loads, equipment sizing, feeder sizing, voltage drop, grounding, lighting circuits, facilities, and power distribution.
• Prepare data visualizations, tables, charts, reports, sketches, calculations, and illustrations.
